Goodluck Jonathan in Benue State

President Goodluck Jonathan
The President Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces- Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is due to visit Benue State today, 8th March 2012. He is to commission some projects developed by the Governor of the State-Gabriel Suswam. This project includes Water project in Makurdi, Otobi, some road network as well as the uncompleted Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, even though the Medical school faces dis-accreditation by the National University Commission (NUC).
The town is wearing a new look. This is the first time a President is visiting Benue State on the ground of project commissioning since the assumption of office by the Suswam led government in 2007.
The police, Road safety, The Army, Air forces, Navy, prison, and even the custom and immigration have all been on alert. The Nigeria Civil Defence corps is not left alone. Traffic warden are seen everywhere. The State Security Service took over the State a week earlier with their normal secret security routine..no wonder, it is the President arrival.
Civil society is not largely comfortable and the President Visit means less to most individuals and corporate bodies in the State. There are so many claim that the governor did not or is not performing to meet their expectations. This not the same with politicians who have been sending congratulatory messages to President Goodluck and Suswam.
